From Their Website
“The Food Truck Collective strives to create more festivals around food trucks in South Florida and Southern California and where each event will create an experience like no other! An atmosphere of great food, great music and a lot of FUN! Between having activities for children and providing giveaways, we love to keep the family involved in all of the action! Are you looking for something to do with the family? Look no further! Join us at our events!
We can book one, two or twenty food trucks for your next event. We can take care of the food from soup-to-cupcakes including presenting trucks for you to choose from; designing menus from each truck for your approval; managing fire safety inspections; and attending the event to oversee the trucks. We can also simply book the food trucks on your behalf and step away letting you do the rest. We are your conduit to the trucks and can do as little or as much as you’d like.”

The potential for this organizer is good but Omayra really needs to improve on a few very important details before she earns a better review.
First off though, my own experience with her ended the night she refused to give anyone refunds on an exceptionally cold night. Weather is a big factor in how a lot or event does. The trucks scheduled for her event pay high fees and there are often too many trucks. This night in particular, it was scheduled to be near freezing and every truck going knew that meant they were going to lose money. Omayra should have done the responsible thing and canceled the event or gave the trucks a choice to attend or get a refund. Instead she chose to tell trucks that they either showed up and lost their fee or she was banning them and keeping their fee. No one wants to lose money. But organizers need to know they are taking the risks as well as the trucks. And if you can’t accept a loss of fees for one night for one event then you are not providing a fair service to the trucks.
I also noticed when I booked with her that she didn’t send out confirmations early and it often turned into a problem where she tells you your truck is scheduled that night but that is often the first a truck has heard of their confirmation.
I stopped booking with her a few years ago and some people claim she has gotten better. She also operates Triple Threat so maybe owning a food truck helped her see how aggressive and hurtful her policies were.
One positive I’ll give her is that she does do a good job on posting on social media but I doubt her IG following is all LA locals. That’s too high a number of followers to not be purchased online.
